Bilateral Initiative

Programme Name: Bilateral Initiative
Implementation Period: 2023-2024
Geographic Coverage: Athens & Oslo

Objective: The initiative aims to exchange good practices & know-how, with a focus on empowering diverse socially vulnerable groups. Through two consecutive study trips, in Oslo and Athens, the aim is to expand the skills of the participating professionals, regarding psychosocial support services and the design of joint empowerment programs. This will be achieved through theoretical training — especially by active participation in actions of the participating organizations, with a view to practical application of knowledge & direct contact with their population. Taking advantage of the opportunity of a live presence, the partners will also explore future ways of transnational cooperation. The experiential engagement will create a favorable ground for each participant to better understand the work of the partners.

The bilateral initiative is being implemented underthe Active citizens fund in Greece by Emfasis Non-Profit and its partners Arvoll Grand and Aktive Kvinner i Bjerke.

The Active citizens fund in Greece is supported through a €15 m grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as part of the EEAGrants 2014 - 2021. The programme aims to develop the sustainability and capacity of the civil society sector in Greece, and to strengthen its role inpromoting and safeguarding democratic procedures, active citizenship and humanrights. The Fund Operator for the Active citizens fund in Greece is Bodossaki Foundation in consortium with SolidarityNow.
