Our Purpose

Responding to Homelessness & Housing Insecurity

The Complexity of Homelessness

At Emfasis, we recognize the multidimensional nature of homelessness. That is why we adopt the European Typology of Homelessness and Housing Exclusion (ETHOS) developed by FEANTSA (European Federation of National Organisations Working with the Homeless), which enables us to design meaningful and evidence-based proposals to tackle the issue.

Homelessness:

Individuals living on the street or in emergency shelters.

Houselessness:

Individuals living in homeless centers or temporary accommodation facilities.

Insecure Housing:

Individuals under threat of eviction or violence.

Inadequate Housing:

Individuals living in unsuitable or substandard accommodations.

Strategic Intervention

Advocacy Initiatives
Member of FEANTSA

As pioneers in developing innovative approaches against homelessness, we act with the goal not only of providing immediate relief but also of driving policy and legislative change through active advocacy actions. Our strategic policy interventions and collaborations with international organizations and national networks for the right to housing aim to shape sustainable solutions that uphold human dignity.

At Emfasis, we believe that homelessness is not merely a social issue but a living expression of the violation of fundamental human rights. With consistency and dedication, we promote policies and legislative initiatives that ensure the right to housing, access to social services, and dignified living conditions. Our actions aim to raise public awareness and drive impactful political change, with the ultimate goal of eliminating the social exclusion of people experiencing homelessness.
