More than 400 experts from 30 countries are meeting to share good practices and to chart a common strategy on homelessness issues.

Athens becomes the epicenter this year for the most significant European developments in housing policy and the fight against homelessness. On May 13th and 14th, 2025, the city hosts for the first time the FEANTSA Forum, the largest conference of the European organization FEANTSA (European Federation of National Organisations Working with the Homeless). More than 400 experts from 30 countries are meeting to share good practices and to chart a common strategy on homelessness issues.
During the Forum, European bodies, experts, field organizations, and institutional actors will examine critical issues concerning housing, social exclusion, and homelessness policies, through the lens of new social and economic challenges.
Ms. Maria Karra, co-founder of Emfasis Non-Profit and representative of FEANTSA in Greece, will contribute to the dialogue on addressing homelessness, sharing Emfasis's experience and the needs recorded daily in the field. "It is an honor for us to host the FEANTSA Forum in Athens and to highlight the particularities, but also the great potential of our country in addressing homelessness," Ms. Karra emphasizes.Within the framework of the Forum, Emfasis Non-Profit will hold a Media Roundtable on Thursday, May 15th, at 15:00 at the President Hotel (Leoforos Kifisias 43, Athens), where there will be the opportunity to exchange views with European representatives of the sector and to receive information on the conclusions of the Forum and the developments taking shape at national and European levels. Mr. Freek Spinnewijn, Director of FEANTSA, Ms. Ruth Owen, Deputy Director of FEANTSA, and Ms. Maria Karra, co-founder of Emfasis Non-Profit and representative of FEANTSA in Greece, will speak at the Roundtable.
