The Hellenic Initiative Canada (THI Canada) is organizing a charity concert featuring Alkistis Protopsalti, one of Greece’s most beloved and acclaimed performers. The concert will take place at the renowned Théâtre Maisonneuve at Place des Arts in Montreal on October 25, 2025. Tickets are officially available as of today, April 28, 2025.

The announcement was made during a special launch event held at the impressive NOBL venue, owned by THI Canada Director Konstantinos Tzembelicos, CEO of 228 Elysian Project Advisory Group. The venue perfectly reflected the mission of THI Canada: to bring together philanthropy, culture, and community through innovation and collaboration.

Proceeds from the concert will support critical programs in Greece, through this celebration of music and giving. The initiative is organized by a volunteer committee chaired by Robert Peck, Honorary Director of THI Canada and former Canadian Ambassador to Greece, and Maria Xiradaki-Photopoulou, Vice Chair of the committee and Head of Sponsorships, as well as Community Development Director at THI Canada.

“Alkistis Protopsalti is a musical gem, a voice and soul that has moved generations of listeners. With over 40 years of artistic journey and 28 gold and platinum records, she has brought Greek music to audiences across the globe,” stated Alexandros Georgiadis, Co-Chair of THI Canada.

“We are thrilled to welcome her to Montreal for what promises to be an unforgettable evening.”

As she returns to her beloved Montreal, Ms. Protopsalti expressed her excitement for the upcoming concert and announced a special collaboration:

“I am filled with joy to return to a city that embraces diversity and is home to a vibrant Greek community. On October 25, I will have the honor of singing with the Socrates-Demosthenes III Children’s Choir, under the direction of lyrical tenor and conductor Dimitris Elias. It will be a celebration of music, unity, and hope in support of The Hellenic Initiative Canada.”

The choir, founded in Montreal twenty years ago, has left a strong cultural footprint in the local community, with performances in major cultural events and recordings of award-winning children's operas.

In alignment with its mission to foster meaningful change in Greece, THI Canada will allocate part of the concert proceeds to youth-focused programs such as ReGeneration and Ecogenia – two dynamic organizations active in education, employment, and environmental action, particularly in forest management and environmental awareness.

Mr. Georgiadis also announced the continued support for the Greek non-profit Emfasis, which operates alongside homeless and vulnerable populations in Greece. In collaboration with the Greek International Film Festival Tour of Canada (GIFFT), THI Canada plans to screen the documentary Roofless Dreams, which showcases the vital work of Emfasis. Further details will be announced soon.

Representatives of all three partner organizations – ReGeneration, Ecogenia, and Emfasis – were present at the launch event, highlighting the importance of collaboration and the Diaspora’s support for Greece’s future.
