With the aim of raising public awareness about the phenomenon of homelessness, the documentary titled "Roofless Dreams" was screened in Agrinio, following an initiative by the Municipality of Agrinio, specifically the Deputy Mayor’s Office for Social Protection and Public Health – Department of Social Policy.

The motivation behind the creation and screening of this documentary, produced by renowned journalist Sotiris Danezis, was to redirect the viewers’ attention toward the people they may have encountered outside the dark cinema hall—perhaps on a street corner—whom they hurried past without a second thought.

The documentary, supported by the TIMA Charitable Foundation, was filmed over the course of thirteen months and captures the stories of five protagonists struggling to survive, living either on the streets or under the constant threat of homelessness.

It focuses on the efforts of Emfasis Non-Profit to support them under extremely challenging conditions. Abuse, incarceration, loss of loved ones… Many of their battles resemble our own — and the same goes for their dreams.

As part of the screening, which took place on the evening of Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the open-air cinema “Ellinis,” the founder of Emfasis Non-Profit, Maria Karra, addressed the audience, along with members of Mr. Danezis’ team, as well as the event’s “host,” Deputy Mayor Georgia Mpoka.
