Emfasis latest synergies and projects which aim to support vulnerable and socially excluded groups:
- International Woman’s day: Ster Cinemas and Emfasis Foundation collect personal hygiene items for women living below the poverty line on 8th March.
- You Rule and Dimokratia Ideon on the streets of a different Athens.
Emfasis in cooperation with YouRule and Dimokratia Ideon offered during a night shift on 26th March, hot tea, croissant, snacks, sleeping bags offered by the Greek Community of Amsterdam, clothing and smiles to all those who were in a “street situation”.
Aimilia Kalantzi, Emfasis Social Street Worker, talked about her experience: “Every person we approach, teaches us to listen to the need and will of people who live on the streets. The shift we conducted hand in hand with YouRule and Dimokratia Ideon is the hard evidence that together we can do more. It would be better to spend less time looking at the shop windows and observe more the people around us.”
- Emfasis Volunteers Social Street Workers participated in the “Outreach work and drop – in centres 2015. Social Work: Taking Care of the Dignity of Human Being” on 26th and 27th March in Prague.
- Easter Bazaar for the homeless by the Apolloneio Rehabilitation Center
We would like to express our warmest gratitude to the Apolloneio Rehabilitation Center, its patients and all the staff who supported the Homeless of Athens and Emfasis’ work through their Easter Bazaar.
- Contest4Causes and Ster Cinemas support Emfasis
In cooperation with Ster Cinemas, Contest4causes supports Emfasis’ cause “Mobile Support Unit” which offers daily support to all those who are in a “street situation” by covering its operating costs.
- Training of Emfasis new volunteers
On Saturday 25th April 2015 Emfasis organized a training for its new volunteers Social Street Workers. Tassos Smetopoulos, Head of social street work, was the main facilitator of the training and talked about the vision and the basic principles of the Foundation as well as introduced the methodology of Social Street Work as the main way of approach of people in a “street situation”.
- Emfasis joins Volonteurope
In February 2015 Emfasis joins the network of Volonteurope. We would like to thank Volonteurope for supporting our volunteers Social Street Workers efforts and for spreading the word about our vision and daily efforts towards the relief of those in need.

- Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Γυναίκας: Τα Ster Cinemas συγκεντρώνουν είδη προσωπικής υγιεινής για άπορες γυναίκες
Η Emfasis Foundation βρέθηκε στα Ster Cinemas Escape στο Ίλιον, την Κυριακή 8 Μαρτίου 2015 με σκοπό να συγκεντρώσει απαραίτητα είδη προσωπικής υγιεινής για όλες τις γυναίκες που διαβιούν στο δρόμο ή κάτω από το όριο της φτώχειας.
- Το YouRule και η Δημοκρατία Ιδεών στους δρόμους μίας διαφορετικής Αθήνας
Στις 26 Μαρτίου 2015, η Emfasis σε συνεργασία με το YouRule και τη Δημοκρατία Ιδεών πραγματοποίησαν νυχτερινή βάρδια προσφέροντας ζεστό τσάι, κρουασάν και σνακ, sleeping bags που είχαν προσφερθεί από την Ελληνική Κοινότητα του Άμστερνταμ , ρούχα και χαμόγελα σε όσους βρίσκονταν σε «κατάσταση δρόμου».
Η Αιμιλία Καλαντζή, Social Street Worker της Emfasis μας μίλησε για την εμπειρία της: “Κάθε προσέγγιση, μας μαθαίνει να αφουγκραζόμαστε τις ανάγκες και τα “θέλω” ανθρώπων που ζουν σε κατάσταση δρόμου. Η βάρδια που πραγματοποιήθηκε σε συνεργασία με το You Rule και την Dimokratia Ideon αποδεικνύει πως μαζί μπορούμε περισσότερα. Ίσως είναι προτιμότερο να χαζεύουμε τις βιτρίνες των καταστημάτων και να παρατηρούμε περισσότερο τους ανθρώπους γύρω μας.”

- Εθελοντές Social Street Workers της Emfasis έλαβαν μέρος στο “Outreach work and drop – in Centres 2015. Social Work: Taking Care of the Dignity of Human Being” στις 26 και 27 Μαρτίου στην Πράγα.
- Πασχαλινό Bazaar για τους άστεγους από το Απολλώνειο Κέντρο Αποθεραπείας & Αποκατάστασης

- Το Contest4Causes και τα Ster Cinemas στηρίζουν την Emfasis
Σε συνεργασία με τα Ster Cinemas το Contest4Causes στηρίζει το έργο μας μέσα από τη συγκέντρωση εσόδων που θα διατεθούν στο Mobile Support Unit που διατηρεί η Emfasis για να στηρίξει καθημερινά όσους βρίσκονται σε «κατάσταση δρόμου».
- Εκπαίδευση νέων εθελοντών Emfasis
Το Σάββατο στις 25 Απριλίου του 2015 πραγματοποιήθηκε η εκπαίδευση των νέων εθελοντών Social Street Workers της Emfasis υπό την καθοδήγηση του Tάσσου Σμετόπουλου, επικεφαλής του Social Street Work. Στόχοι του training ήταν η γνωριμία των νέων εθελοντών με την δομή, την οργάνωση και τις αρχές που διέπουν την Emfasis καθώς και η εισαγωγή τους στο Social Street Work ως μέθοδο προσέγγισης ανθρώπων που βρίσκονται σε «κατάσταση δρόμου».
- Η Emfasis γίνεται μέλος του Volonteurope
Τον Φεβρουάριο του 2015 η Emfasis γίνεται μέλος του δικτύου Volonteurope. Ευχαριστούμε πολύ το Volonteurope που συμβάλλει στην ανάδειξη του έργου των εθελοντών Social Street Workers της Emfasis.
